1. Since 2004, the City of San Angelo has seen a 36.8% decrease in crime and a 38.8% decrease in crime per 1000.
2. Since 2010, we have seen a 10.6% percent decrease in the UCR Index Crimes
3. In 2011, San Angelo was ranked the 17th most secure place to live in towns with less than 150,000 population according to a study done by Farmers Insurance.
4. Restructured the department into Sector Policing to better identify and serve segments of the population.
5. Made significant changes to the hierarchy and realignment of personnel within the department.
6. Implemented new reporting design to help improve prosecutions.
7. Consolidated Lake & Park Police under the SAPD, streamlining law enforcement services in San Angelo.
8. Upgraded the department to digital video, speeding up the processing time and making info immediately available for review for prosecution and complaint resolution.
9. Continually improving staffing numbers.
10. Implemented Blue Team IA Pro to provide early warning for officers that may become problematic.
11. Began crime-free multi housing program.
